A gorgeous large Roemer (Römer)<br>Germany , second half 17th century.<br>Clear green glass (s.c. Waldglas) produced for the Dutch market.<br>Spherical bowl. The stem decorated withy multiple rows of raspberry prunts.<br>The transition from the bowl to the stem is marked by a milled thread.<br>Conical coiled foot.<br>Height: 21 cm. Diam. 10 cm.<br>These rare society glasses were used to serve Rhine wine (hock).<br>In the still life paintings of the 17th century by i.e. Clara Peeters, Willem Heda or Pieter Claesz often<br>used in a composition of a so- called breakfast scene (banketje).
